Dr Paula Dumas, PhD
Dr Paula Dumas works as an Education and E-Learning Consultant for Joimove. She holds a PhD in history from the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, UK and is a published author. Paula teaches at the University of Glasgow’s Centre for Open Studies in Glasgow, UK, and previously taught at the University of Edinburgh and at Western University in London, Canada. Paula recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Online and Distance Education with the Open University and has been busy applying her new skills and knowledge of new technologies for delivering course materials, the latest theories on student learning, and methods of strengthening course content and assessment to her work at Joimove.
Paula currently builds the training modules for Joimove and the JIS. She has many years of formal dance training in ballet, tap, jazz, and musical theatre, and is also an experienced babywearer. Paula has been involved with Joimove since 2013. Along with providing the course materials, Paula loves being the first point of contact for the many newcomers to Joimove and the JIS. As a recipient of incoming emails to and the new inquiries that are submitted via Joimove’s website, Paula can reach out to potential students to share information, answer questions, and provide support and encouragement. She loves that Joimove brings people together through a love of active babywearing and family dancing and movement and can’t wait to share the Joimove’s training programmes and classes with more people around the world.
